The difference in "Unlicensed" vs "Non Profit License" vs "Sponsorship License" are tricky. I hope I can clear some of the confusion up for you with information I have gathered.

Unlicensed Teamspeak 3: TeamSpeak is provided free of charge for non-commercial groups or individuals who wish to host their own TeamSpeak servers in a limited capacity. To use TeamSpeak without a license, just download and install the TeamSpeak server -- no signup is required. Unlicensed use of TeamSpeak 2 is limited to ten virtual servers with up to 1000 combined slots, while unlicensed use of TeamSpeak 3 is limited to one virtual server with up to 32 slots.
Unlicensed use is ideal for: Friends & family, small gaming clans/guilds, online study groups, church groups.
You will find that these are servers run out of someone's closet or basement. Usually low quality and they have connection problems regularly.

Teamspeak 3 Non Profit License: Non-profit licensing is for non-commercial groups or individuals who would be eligible to use TeamSpeak unlicensed, but require more servers or slots than are available without a license. To use a TeamSpeak non-profit license, you will need to register an account and provide your name, contact information, and an active email address which will be used to generate and deliver your license key. To use your license, you simply download and install the TeamSpeak server and copy your licensekey.dat file into the server directory. TeamSpeak 3 non-profit licenses are limited to a maximum of ten virtual servers and up to 512 combined slots. Non-profit licenses are issued for a period of one year and are automatically renewed for an additional year if the license is still in-use.
Non-Profit licenses are ideal for: Large groups of friends & family, large gaming clans/guilds, academic groups.
You can rent servers directly from us, and we are able to help you set this up if you are not sure how to do it. It is 512 slots for just the cost of the server. Can't beat that. You can see if applications are open or closed by clicking HERE. Also note that we support currently support group pay, so there is no need for a donation link. You can pass out the link for "Group Pay" or publish it on your website if you wish. No "Donation" links of any kind are acceptable. You will be denied a license of this kind.

Teamspeak 3 Sponsorship License: Sponsored Licenses are sponsored by Teamspeak.com and typically only come with 128 slots and 1 virtual server. This license isn't public information, and allows you to publish a donation link/button on your website.
Sponsorship licenses are ideal for: Gaming communities/guilds/clans that are group funded and unable to be supported by just one person.

If you have questions please ask! I will be happy to help!
